My Gaon · header redesign — where does Follow go?
Location is settled: name is the hero, the State / District / Ward chips are gone, replaced by the Bihar › Saran › Chhapra › Mahaji… breadcrumb (tap a crumb to hop up). The 4 options below differ only in where Follow / Following lives now that it's out of the header — plus how the 3 stat cards shrink. Dark, mockup-fidelity. Pick one (or mix) → we build.
1Follow on the cover
Header is pure location. Follow rides the top-right of the cover photo as a CTA, then shrinks to a quiet ✓ Following chip once tapped. Header never fights for space.

✔ location owns the whole top row · Follow is discoverable but never permanent clutter · becomes ✓ Following chip in place after tap
2Slim action strip
A thin row sits under the breadcrumb: community proof on the left (8 on Nyburs · 3 built it), Follow on the right. One line, always visible, no card stolen.

✔ Follow always reachable on every tab · the left side adds social proof ("real people built this") which a bare Follow button never gave you
3Identity card
Header is just back · name · ⋯. Under the tabs, an identity card carries avatar + type + completeness ring and a full-width Follow. Follow gets weight, header gets calm.

✔ Follow is a confident full-width CTA without crowding the title · the card doubles as the "what is this place" summary
4Status, not a button
For places you already follow (your own gaon), Follow is noise. Show a tiny ✓ Following status by the name; the toggle lives in ⋯. Only places you don't follow get the green CTA strip.

✔ kills the dead button on places you own · stats kept but thinner + zero-aware (a "0" row auto-collapses) · ⋯ glows green = followed
All four share the settled location: name hero (truncates only at ~2 lines, with ▾ to switch place) · the State / District / Ward chips are gone · one breadcrumb does the hierarchy hop · search + ⋯ stay as icons.
The Follow question, four answers:
1 · On the cover — header is purest; Follow is contextual, fades to a chip after tap. 2 · Slim strip — Follow always visible on every tab + adds social proof. 3 · Identity card — Follow gets full-width weight, card explains the place. 4 · Status not button — smartest about your own gaon (no dead CTA), toggle in ⋯.
My recommendation
Option 2 (slim strip) as the default, borrowing Option 4's logic: the strip shows + Follow when you don't follow, and collapses to ✓ Following · 8 here social-proof text when you do — so the control is always one line, never a wasted button, and the empty stat cards shrink the same zero-aware way. Want me to take #2 to full visual fidelity (dark + light, followed + not-followed states), or mix in a piece of another?
